8-Layer Honey Cake Recipe (Medovik)


 
This honey cake is so soft and fantastic. The honey baked into the cake layers pairs perfectly with the simple sour cream frosting. 

 

Servings: 12 slices

 

Ingredients

Cake Layers Ingredients:



  • 4 Tbsp honey (1/4 cup)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 large eggs beaten with a fork

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour I used unbleached, organic


 
 

Sour Cream Frosting Ingredients:



  • 32 oz sour cream

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream


 
 

For the topping:



  • 1/2 lb strawberries optional
